Find The Spark In You
My husband has always been the creative character in our relationship, probably because he is an architectural designer and has a brilliant aesthetic taste. Kidding aside, he is such an innovative soul. He has a lot of hobbies and interests. From photography to creating music videos, reading to singing, plumbing to computer programming, cooking to cake designing, swimming to cycling, you name it, he tried it.
I always jokingly say that my life is boring. When I was still studying, I am the type of student who doesn’t want to skip any school day and felt sad when summer vacation is coming. That is because I can’t think of anything interesting to do. That’s how boring I was. Finally, it gets exciting when I got married. He became my life, my future and happiness.
My first 4 years of marriage was a dream. He is the king and I am the queen, living in a new world away from home. He took care of everything. He made me and everyone in the family happy- until he got totally drained. He has no more love to give.
That’s when things changed. He changed. We changed. We are on the verge of separating then. That’s the only time I realized that he needs me.
I was so stupid not to think that he is just as human as I am. He needs me and he needs me NOW.
But how can I help him? I am nothing. I cannot give what I do not have.
Desperately, I started finding answers anywhere. But living in a foreign land and no friend in sight, made my search even more difficult. I found myself randomly typing this big, vague and awkward question “How to love yourself?” As weird as it sounds, I found myself finding answers from the Truly Rich Club. I found myself listening to Bo Sanchez.
That’s when I realized I am not boring. In fact, I am unique. I am distinctively made by my God.
I started appreciating myself more. I started loving myself.
When you realize that you are a child of God, you will then appreciate every little part of you. You are worth all the love in the world and you are capable of giving love as well.
Finding the spark in you starts from understanding that God loves you. If you knew that someone bigger than the world up there loves you, you will envision what God sees in you. You will soon see this spark that is burning inside you eagerly waiting to come out and showcase its light into the world.
Just as Bro. Bo said:
“Do not be imprisoned by the fears of your own weakness,
Fear of your own limitation,
Fear of your own ugliness,
Fear of your own mistakes and failures”.
“How to Love Yourself?” is the very first talk of Bro. Bo that I have listened to from the Truly Rich Club. This is where our Truly Rich Club story started.
